Disney World visitors can no longer eat and drink while walking around the theme park as reports have mentioned there are too many people not wearing face masks.
Variety reports that Disney World recently posted an amendment to it’s face covering policy, banning visitors from eating and drinking while walking around the park with their mask off, as noted by multiple Disney World fan blogs over the weekend.
However, it still allows guests to remove their face masks while eating or drinking, but asks that they remain stationary and socially distant from other people as they do it.
“Face coverings are required for all guests (ages 2 and up) and cast members. Please bring your own face coverings and wear them at all times, except when dining or swimming. You may remove your face covering while actively eating or drinking, but you should be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing,” the park’s website now says under the face coverings section.
Disney World in Orlando, Florida, reopened it’s Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom parks last week after being closed for four months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With these attractions trying to get back into business, coronavirus cases within the state were spiking at an alarming rate. With there only being one daily reporting of less that 10,000 cases since July 10th.
To help prevent the spread of coronavirus at the park, Disney World has enforced extra precautions, such as enhanced cleaning to high-traffic areas, adding signs and barriers to promote social distancing and creating cashless services to reduce physical contact.
